In reading the above, I only have a couple of points to make and please before comenting on whether or not you think I am racist try to read all the way through.

1. Slavery towards blacks happened over 100 years ago. If this was the reason for all of the crime and poverty in the race, then let me ask you, why are there successful black men and women? Are we not all as Americans given the same opportunities? In addition, the majority of black slaves that were brought to America were actually sold to white men looking for slaves in Africa. Also, not all black people in the US were slaves during this period.

2. If it weren’t for white people purchasing slaves there wouldn’t be as many “African-Americans” in America, they would have all died in Africa as their families were criminals or would have migrated on their own just as the white people did. Furthermore, it took members of the white race to abolish slavery, hire blacks into businesses, and even put in many of the bills we have today forcing equality in the work-force. AND many many white people were marching along right beside the black people during the civil rights movement.

3. To say there is no racism would be ignorant; however, we have come a very long way since the 1800s and even the 60s.

Anyhoo that’s all I have to say about that. I don’t mean to offend anyone, but this is the truth as I have learned it. Also, if you want to talk about racism towards what are so called “minorities” let me bring a couple of things to your attention:

1. There are scholorships out there just for being Black, Mexican, Asian, etc. but there are no scholorships for being white.
2. Affirmative Action – If a white man is equally qualified as a black man the business has to select the black man regardless of personality and/or intelect.
3. Personal story – When I was in high school a couple of ignorant hicks brought confederate flags to the school with signs that stated the school’s logo “Kearny Komet Kountry” with the K’s in very large block lettering. Needless to say it started a riot… many of my white friends were in the riot also beating up the kids who brought those signs. Now, after the rally which I was in no way involved in I had at least 3 or 4 black kids come up to me (one of them being my neighbor) saying “you white girl better have a ride home or I’m going to kick your cracker ass” something like that… I was terrified… this was my FIRST pep rally in high school… lol…

My point is, don’t stress about the little things like this anymore. Our president is black (this takes white voters too you know), The CEO of my company is Chinese, One of my managers is black and the others are Filipino. Yes, we still have a ways to go, but if we just got rid of people like Jesse Jackson who screams “RACISM!!” everytime a white person says “black” and black people STOP pulling the race card every time they are in trouble or denied something, and if white people would STOP with the racist jokes and trying to “act black” to make society happy and just BE YOURSELVES be laid back… smoke some weed if you have to lol. As a young black female growing up in this society today and hearing black people degrade themselves for example referring to themselves as “niggas” saddens my heart because there is so much history behind the word that they can not even begin to comprehend the emotions, struggle and scars this word had left. In a way we can not be mad at other races for using the term “nigga” because many black people throw the word around like it is casual. We all need to take a good look at ourselves and see past colour, but look at people for who they really are.
